When I found out I was going to have a baby I read up on everything I could, developmental psychology, child psychology, you name it. The only thing I didn’t research was probably one of the most practical—baby blankets. How could I have missed something so obvious? Well, lucky for me a friend of mine with a few kids of her own gave me a pair of Little Giraffe Baby Blankets.
Now my little one just loves these blankets, she won’t go anywhere without them. I even got a few extras just in case she wears through the ones she has now. They’re just fantastic. We have the chenille with its warm fuzziness for the winter and the lighter smooth velvet for the summer months so she doesn’t get too hot. (Both are great, by the way, but I’ve heard from other moms that it’s a bad idea to try to give Baby something he’s not used to later. In other words, if he falls in love with the chenille blanket as a newborn, don’t try to switch it out with a velvet one at 18 months!) I don’t know what it is about these particular blankets but my little girl can’t get enough of hers. I’ve even given a few out as gifts, and received notes thanking me profusely for them!
