It’s Easy with Plastic Greenhouse Kits

If you have ever tried to build a greenhouse out of wood and cover it then you know how hard building this type of structure can be. I don’t know who invented the plastic greenhouse kit but I am so glad they did! It is a lot easier than building one from scratch. That is not to say that it is a piece of cake because there are pieces to be put together and things that don’t always make since so you do have to read the instructions carefully. It’s no different than the bike I put together for my kid last Christmas; frustrating but once done proud!

We actually started with a mini home greenhouse several years ago to prime the growing our own food pump. We grew out of it after the first season and have graduated into a larger greenhouse but I still prefer the plastic kits over the do-it-yourself greenhouses that I did with my dad who is the ultimate do-it-yourselfer. It took us weeks instead of days to get it completed and I had vents and louvers with my kit that he had to go out and purchase later. I’m a get it done and move on kind of person so kits work great for me.

Gardens and Gazebos

Ever since I will a kid growing up in small town U.S.A. I have had a love of gazebos. I don’t care if they are big and sit in the middle of a park or city square or small and sit by the pool in someones backyard, I want to sit under them and just relax and listen to what is going on around it. That’s what I remember, the activity that always surrounds a gazebo. At night there was lights and dancing while the daytime brought family picnics and games. Gazebos just bring out the life in a party so I am so glad that last summer I got one of my own right in my front yard and I love it!

After my husband installed it for me on the little hill out front I sat out on a mission to get just the right garden decor to place in, on and around it so everyone would enjoy it the way I do. I had to start with the string lights around the outside rim and along with some beautiful hanging baskets. My husband was gracious enough to put in a couple of raised beds to one side so we can enjoy the flowers all summer. The best thing has been visiting with friends and family while we all enjoy the great outdoors.

Getting My Yard in Order with Kits

With all this economic stuff happening around us it just made since to do what we could ourselves. Both my wife and I have seen the writing on the wall for about a year now with our jobs in the peripheral auto business so we decided to do everything we could do ourselves in the months ahead. The first thing we wanted to finish was our rock garden out back so we bought a pergola kit. It came out of the box pre drilled and sanded and ready to put together and install. It was easy, straightforward and a real breeze.

We then started looking at some alternatives for growing food from raised garden bed to greenhouse kits and decided on purchasing a greenhouse. It came in several boxes and I was amazed at how easy it went together. I thought it would at least take the weekend but we were up and ready to go in a day! I’m not sure what we will do next but I can tell you if it comes in a kit we will try that first based on how well our other experiences have been. I highly recommend trying a kit.
