Golf is a stately, gentleman’s game, and even today, the traditions and rules followed by the original founders are followed. However, that doesn’t mean that golf can’t be funny and even, sometimes, a little bit silly. Although the average golfer looks pretty much the same in their casual sportswear toting a golf bag, one great way to add personality on the links is via a fun headcover for a club in your bag. Although some are straight-forward company logo slipcovers, there are headcovers available in a variety of silly designs, including increasingly popular fun animal headcovers for golf.

These animal headcovers are available in an amazing array of critters, from a cute and cuddly kitty to a ferocious grizzly bear, and even that dreaded golf-course enemy, the gopher. One website offers more than thirty varieties of animal headcover! That website, www.thegolfcollection.com, is sure to have your favorite animal, or even your specific breed of dog, to carry around in your golf bag! These headcovers make great gifts for the golfer who has everything, or any golfer on your list, young or old, who is just a little bit silly.

French painter, Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841 – 1919) was a leader of the Impressionist movement. Unlike many Impressionist painters of this period, he preferred to paint his friends and family, capturing candid, “of-the-moment” scenes. In his famous oil on canvas, Luncheon of the Boating Party (Le déjeuner des canotiers) (1881), Renoir paints himself and his friends on the balcony at the restaurant, Maison Fournaise. The technique used in this painting is emblematic of Renoir’s use of color, light and composition to bring about the intimacy and vitality of his works. This treasure of the Impressionist period has been elegantly reproduced in chenille and is available at Decor4u.com as seen here Les Canotiers by Renoir Tapestry ~ Throws.
